Parent Support Circles

You Don’t Have to Go Through This Alone

When a child is struggling with their mental health, parents often carry an enormous emotional burden. Fear, exhaustion, guilt, and uncertainty are common, and many parents feel they have no safe place to talk about what they are experiencing.

Privacy concerns, stigma, and the desire to protect their child can make it difficult for parents to open up to friends or family.

Our Parent Support Circles were created so parents have a confidential place to connect with others who truly understand what they are going through.

What Are Parent Support Circles?

Parent Support Circles are weekly virtual support groups for parents who are navigating a child’s mental health challenges or crisis.

These small group conversations provide a space where parents can:

  • share their experiences with others who understand
  • ask questions and exchange practical advice
  • process the emotional stress of supporting a struggling child
  • feel less alone during an incredibly difficult time

Meetings take place online, allowing parents to participate privately from their home.

Who These Groups Are For

Parent Support Circles are designed for parents who are experiencing situations such as:

  • a child struggling with depression or anxiety
  • suicidal thoughts or self-harm concerns
  • recent hospitalization or crisis events
  • navigating therapy, medication, or treatment programs
  • ongoing emotional or behavioral struggles

Parents at different stages of the journey are welcome. Some families may be in the middle of a crisis, while others may be navigating recovery and treatment.

What to Expect

Each session is a guided but informal conversation focused on support and connection.

Parents can expect:

  • a welcoming and respectful environment
  • an opportunity to share if they feel comfortable
  • the option to simply listen if they prefer
  • supportive conversation with other parents facing similar challenges

There is no pressure to speak. Many parents find it helpful just to hear from others who understand. These groups are a fulfillment of our promise that you are not alone.

Confidentiality and Privacy

We understand that parents often want to protect their child’s privacy. Parent Support Circles are designed to be a confidential and respectful space.

Participants are asked to respect the privacy of others and keep shared information within the group.
